Florida Realtors Member Profile: By the Numbers
The typical Realtor in Florida is female with nine years of experience and owns her own home, according to new research by Florida Realtors economists.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida is a unique place when compared to national trends, and this is true for members of Florida Realtors® as well. A recent survey of Florida Realtors members reveals some interesting findings about business (earnings, sales and transactions from 2023) and member characteristics (from 2024).
Business characteristics
- At 69%, Florida had a slightly higher concentration of sales agents compared to 65% nationally
- 68% of Realtors® in Florida specialize in residential real estate compared to 74% nationally
- The typical Realtor in Florida had nine years of experience compared to 10 years nationally
Business activity
- In 2023, the typical agent in Florida had five transactions compared to 10 nationally
- In Florida, Realtors cited affordability as the top factor limiting potential clients in completing a transaction, whereas lack of inventory and affordability were cited as the top reasons nationally
Demographics
- 67% of all Realtors in Florida were female compared to 62% nationally, with a median age of 56 years old
- 80% of Realtors in Florida own their primary residence
- 60% of members reported volunteering in their community
