NAR Provides Key Insights on Flood Insurance
The newest Consumer Guide provides essential information on flood insurance, covering requirements and options for properties in flood-prone areas.
WASHINGTON — When buying a home in Florida, new buyers often have questions about flood insurance – Do I need it? What’s covered? What are my options?
The latest Consumer Guide by the National Association of Realtors® aims to answer these questions and clarify the essentials of insurance requirements, options and property protection in flood-prone areas.
NAR Settlement: Forms, Resources, Webinars from Florida Realtors
“Flooding is the most common and costly natural disaster in the United States. Even a few inches of water can cause devastating damage. A licensed insurance agent can advise you on purchasing the right flood insurance to protect your assets,” NAR said in its 18th guide.
NAR’s Consumer Guides look to equip customers with the tools they need to make informed choices following the practice changes that began Aug. 17, highlighting the value of working with a Realtor®.
Like the other Consumer Guides, the newest one — along with other resources — can be viewed at the NAR website facts.Realtor. The Consumer Guides can also be printed as handouts. Most are available in English and Spanish.
