Florida Realtors Hosts Condo Webinar
The March 27 legal webinar will help agents navigate new condo regulations designed to improve safety, financial accountability and transparency.
ORLANDO, Fla. — After the deadly 2021 collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, real estate professionals have been grappling with the many changes to condominium regulations aimed at increasing the safety of these buildings as well as ensuring that prospective purchasers are better informed about the building’s physical and financial condition.
On March 27, Florida Realtors®’ legal team will host a webinar to help Realtors® navigate these updates, offering insights into recent changes to state condominium laws and potential future changes. The webinar will also cover the use of the Condominium Rider in transactions.
The reforms passed by the Florida Legislature that started in 2024 seek to address structural integrity concerns, improve financial accountability and expand communication between the parties involved in the ownership and management of condominium properties. The changes include new statewide “milestone inspection” requirements, structural integrity reserve studies, mandatory reserves and revised seller disclosures. The changes, however, have left some confused and the March 27 legal webinar will help provide some clarity.
