NAR Settlement: New Webinar, Resources Available
Florida Realtors and NAR rolled out new tools to help Realtors navigate the Aug. 17 practice changes, focusing on building trust and showing value to buyers.
NAR Settlement: Forms, Resources, Webinars from Florida Realtors
WASHINGTON – Florida Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors® introduced new tools and information designed to help Realtors® adapt to the practice changes that started Aug. 17. The new resources include information to help build trust with inquiring buyers while demonstrating the value of working with a Realtor.
On Tuesday, Sept. 17, Florida Realtors will host its popular "Buyer Representation – What You Need to Know" webinar with Cynthia DeLuca. In this free event, from 9:30-11 a.m., ET, you will learn important topics related to the NAR settlement:
- How we got here and why
- What was required on August 17
- Understanding Florida "agency relationships” and buyer representation
- Understanding new forms, including buyer broker agreements, new compensation agreements and showing agreements.
Florida Realtors’ NAR Settlement Resource Guide webpage also includes a wealth of information about the practice changes, including videos, infographics and new and revised forms and contracts. In addition, NAR has two new consumer guides for inquiring buyers to further clarify the practice changes:
- Open Houses and Written Agreements: Defines key terms under the settlement in consumer-friendly language and helps explain when agents are required to enter into written agreements with buyers and when they are not.
- Realtors’ Duty to Put Client Interests Above Their Own: Explains what it means for a Realtor to act in their client's best interest and describes how the practice changes combat unlawful steering practices.
