RE Agents’ 12-Month/12 Event Prospecting Plan
Event marketing ties calendar events to marketing efforts. At tax time, offer free tax help. At Halloween, offer pumpkin carving lessons.
NEW YORK – One strategy to connect with both existing and prospective real estate clients is through event marketing. Every month offers a different occasion or theme to play on, and a planned activity can give an agent the opportunity to meet and interact with a potential buyer or seller.
Agents can dream up and plan events on their own, or they can serve in a sponsor role for a gathering created by someone else.
Examples range from a New Year’s party in January to a tax-season promotion consisting of free market analysis updates for their previous year’s clients – or it could be a pumpkin fest in October. Events can be hosted in homes, clubhouses or schools.
For a pumpkin fest in October 2024, for example, buy pumpkins wholesale in September and invite the neighborhood, community, sphere of influence and more. Host it at a home, clubhouse, school, library or recreation center. During the event, serve apple cider or partner with a local coffee house to cater the event.
Another possibility is to work with the American Red Cross for a blood drive. They’ll bring the BloodMobile to your location and even prospect for you to maximize turnout.
Other ideas include working with local organizations to arrange free pet adoption for the agent’s active buyers and sellers, distributing Valentine-like treats professing “I love referrals!” during February, taking part in a charity fun run, holding a paper-shredding party and more.
