Use AI for Social Media Only if It Sounds Like You

Social media posts must sound sincere if you hope to generate new leads. AI can make the task easier, but only if the copy still sounds authentic.

LAS VEGAS – How do you incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into a social media strategy without compromising authenticity? A panel at Inman Connect Las Vegas offered event-goers some insight.

AI technology can lift some of the burden from real estate agents, freeing them to focus elsewhere, acknowledged Mike Sherrard of eXP Realty – but letting their own personalities continue to shine through is key.

“When you’re trying to be a different version of somebody else, that’s when you burn out,” Sherrard warned.

Giselle Ugarte with Action Forward and the Talent Brokerage agreed, emphasizing that agents should view AI as an extension of their own work on social media, rather than as a substitute for it.

“Use it for research,” she suggested. “Use it as a coach. Don’t use it to replace your actual coach, but use it to find pain points.”

Glennda Baker with Glennda Baker & Associates at Ansley Atlanta Real Estate also chimed in, adding that the importance of agents remaining true to self in the age of AI cannot be overstated.

“I would just say, as an industry, it’s so important to create content that you can stand behind,” she said. “When you put something out, you’re putting out your name, your expertise. It is a representation of you.”
