Florida Leads for Business Relocations
An analysis from the Florida Chamber Foundation found the state welcomed more than 500 new net business migrations last year.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida continues to lead the nation as a premier destination for business relocations with 503 net new businesses coming to the state over the past year, the Florida Chamber Foundation’s research team found.
According to the Florida Chamber of Commerce site, www.thefloridascorecard.org, the state saw more than 47,000 new business start-ups in January 2025, the organization said.
“Florida is not only the #1 state in the nation to start a new business — it’s the #1 state to move your business,” said Mark Wilson, president and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. “The Florida 2030 Blueprint is working and the ongoing success driven by sound policies, a pro-jobs environment and the business community’s focus on growing Florida to the 10th largest economy by 2030 are the difference makers.”
The Foundation said the state’s tax advantages, lawsuit reforms and policies foster a thriving economy. For instance, the strong partnership between Florida Department of Commerce and the Florida Chamber Foundation has been pivotal in ensuring Florida remains a top destination for relocation.
“The partnership between FloridaCommerce and the Florida Chamber Foundation in advancing the Florida 2030 Blueprint mission is instrumental in Florida remaining the #1 state to not only start or move a business, but to call home,” said Florida Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly. “The latest firm migration data reaffirms what we already know — while Florida is home to a favorable pro-business and tax climate, additional assets like our low crime rate and top-ranked education system continue to make Florida a top competitor.”
